Summary of Job:
Manage all planning and purchasing functions for a portfolio of nutritional products to meet required service levels in the most cost-effective manner possible.  Maintain data points needed to determine optimal re-order strategy on an item-by-item basis, including on-hand inventory levels, historical sales, forecasted sales, standard lead times, tiered pricing levels and minimum order quantities.  Setting up of finished good items, BOM and UOM within the SAP B1 ERP system.  Place purchase orders and monitor vendor performance closely to ensure promised delivery dates are met.
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Process purchase orders to outside partners.
  • Update planning spreadsheets and internal reports.
  • Review stock levels against sales ratio and sales forecast; respond to changes in sales trends and sales forecast.
  • Communicate with contract manufacturers on production and pack out projects.
  • Manage the quoting process on new projects, including a cost-of-goods evaluation of new products/materials.
  • Advise management on, track costs and recommend sources of ingredients used in the making of functional food products.
  • Use various modules in MAS200 to set up fixed item and vendor data, enter purchase transactions and gather both historical and current data.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.
 
Necessary Requirements:
  • College Degree, preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of purchasing and planning experience with consumer package goods, ideally in nutraceutical and/or food products.
  • Experience with MAS200 strongly preferred, Oracle and SAP experience acceptable.
  • Highly skilled user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Access a plus.
  • Understanding of the costs and sources of food and ingredient supplies.
  • Experience purchasing a wide variety of ingredients used in the making of food products.
  • Skilled at building effective working relationships across functional areas and with external partners.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and energetic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
