Summary of Opportunity
The Senior Analyst has two major responsibilities.  First, the Senior Analyst supports the Health Food team through building reports and analyzing POS data for chain stores and independents in this sector.  In analzying weekly and monthly retail sales trends, this individual will be critical in helping identify top selling items and line extension opportunities across multiple brands.  Second, the Senior Analyst will lead the analysis of customer P&Ls.  From sales to  customer specific expenses, this individual will provide actionable feedback as to how we can continue to grow the top line and botton line of the Health Food business.
The Senior Analyst is adept at deciphering, maintaining and modifying analytical models.  The Senior Analyst is also adept at communicating with coworkers, understanding emerging business needs and developing reporting tools that meet those needs.  Overall, the Senior Analyst is intellectually curious and has a passion to provide information that will help the company build upon its positive sales momentum.
Detailed Responsibilities
Retailer Analysis
  • Analyze and summarize weekly POS trends of key customers, highlighting top selling items and variances to YTD performance
  • Utilize market data to understand top trends and lagging categories, including categories that Irwin Naturals does and does not have a presence
  • Develop consolidated POS warehouse
Promotional Analysis (Customer Specific Events & National Campaigns)
  • Understand effectiveness of key promotions through lift, profitability and ROI analysis from both customer and retailer point of view
  • Update and analyze customer spend and profitability through customer P&Ls
Sales Analysis
  • Understand shipment unit movement by customer by SKU through analyzing historical run rates and promotional performance
  • Analyze inventory position, highlighting areas of risk and opportunity based on projected demand
Other Ad Hoc Analysis
  • Analyze monthly performance by SKU, customer, and division from sales through profit
  • Spearhead budgeting process for sales and customer specific line items (i.e., promotional spend, returns. etc.)
Any other projects and tasks as assigned
  • 5+ years of analytical experience
  • Advanced analytical modeling skills
  • Advance knowledge of Power Query, SAP, and Excel including Pivot tables
  • Demonstrate quantitative and analytical capabilities to analyze and validate data
  • Possess communication and problem-solving skills necessary to successfully engage with colleagues at all levels to develop desired results
  • Build and maintain internal working relationships to facilitate effective and timely resolutions of roadblocks
  • Organized, efficient and dedicated to serving internal clients, as well as excellent attention to detail, accuracy and quality output
  • A quick learner and excellent team-player
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, manage time, work well with others, and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • A high level of general business acumen, including a command of basic statistics, finance, and/or economics
  • Bachelor's Degree (Business, Marketing, Economics)
